The new A&E 80x40 double macaw cage and large corner cage I ordered for Savannah and Remington got here yesterday. I spent all day carting them inside, putting them together, and setting them up. They're both much bigger than I envisioned. 600 lbs worth of cage!! Here are some photos of the final products. Remington's cage is a little bare at the moment--need to order a few more perches. I'm really pleased, though! Thank you to Kathie at mysafebirdstore for her help with my order.

Wonderful!!!
This is perfect timing for me as I've been thinking about purchasing that corner cage. Really helpful to see it full of toys/perches and a bird!
Congratulations!! Happy birds!

Yep, the corner cage really is BIG. I can't wait until DH sees these....lol. Amanda, we're military too so I understand what you're saying. Fortunately for us we're at a point in DH's career where we have a slight bit more control over where we end up and our housing options. DH retires in 6 more years so wherever we PCS next should be where we retire.

I didn't know you were military! Have you gone overseas with your birds? Sean and I are just starting out (7mos in) and he is an E-3 right now, so we're on the small end of things. I am making sure all of our cages are collapsible, too, so I can load them in the car and take them with us and not on a moving truck. Though Mr. Monty seems to be trying to change that!

I'm also Military (O-3) Fortunately our Military move us from location to location on posting, so cages, etc are never an issue. My last move, as a single guy living in a commercial rented property, filled up a whole 20ft shipping container!!! Lots of cages and fish tanks....
They will also move our cars, boats, trailers (within reason of course!). For some reason they wont move aviaries. Maybe that's why I only keep indoor birds...
We're also not restricted as much on where we live - we can either take an allowance to live in a rental property, buy our own property, or (if married) live in a supplied married quarter (the quality of which depends on rank). If we own a property in the same posting location we're expected to live in it so they wont give us an allowance in that situation... Fair enough I guess.

Amanda, I've never been overseas with birds, only dogs. I don't know how it would be to ship them and do quarantine but I do think it's possible. Jill, it *is* fun to decorate the new cages. They both still could use a few things...a sws sure would be handy. lol Mercedez, they're both doing great in the new cages. Savannah is already very comfortable and goes all over it. Remington I can tell is very happy to have all that room to himself but he's not quite sure what to do with all of it yet. His former cage was pretty small for a grey IMO--32x23, so he's got a lot more room to get used to. He's been talking and singing, whistling, etc. much more since I put him in the new cage though, so I think that's a good sign.
