What to Know

Critics Consensus

Engaging and entertaining -- if not particularly challenging -- Ozark's descent into darker waters is kept afloat by another superb turn from Laura Linney.

Ozark: Season 2 | Rotten Tomatoes (1) Lauren Carroll Harris Guardian With such smart plotting, the whole enterprise is just another corruption of the American midwest, in this wonderfully astute takedown of the fraudulent American dream and ever-shrinking middle class. Jul 24, 2019 Full Review Ozark: Season 2 | Rotten Tomatoes (2) Graeme Virtue Guardian Ozark, too, risks feeling a little familiar. Rated: 3/5 May 28, 2019 Full Review Ozark: Season 2 | Rotten Tomatoes (3) Matthew Gilbert Boston Globe My hope that "Ozark" would get its sea legs in season two was for naught. Most of what was good in season one remains good, most importantly Linney... But then there are a few excruciating characters and subplots this time around. Aug 31, 2018 Full Review Ozark: Season 2 | Rotten Tomatoes (4) Alix Turner Ready Steady Cut Continuing directly after the end of the first season, Ozark Season 2 examines the consequences of that story for everyone concerned. Happy families FTW. Rated: 4/5 May 10, 2021 Full Review Ozark: Season 2 | Rotten Tomatoes (5) Mikel Zorrilla Espinof It continues to be worthwhile for the same reasons we found in the first season, and has partially compensated its less stimulating aspects. [Full Review in Spanish] Rated: 3.5/5 Jul 11, 2019 Full Review Ozark: Season 2 | Rotten Tomatoes (6) Alex Maidy JoBlo's Movie Network Ozark remains a very entertaining series and one that does not deviate much from the formula it developed last year. Audience Member I knew exactly what I was going to watch because I read all of the articles and saw the trailers for Ozark before season 1. Absolutely loved this show even though it is not realistic at times, the acting is outstanding. Rated 4.5/5 Stars • Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 06/10/24 Full Review billybob 1 Constantly improving, this season is the sweet spot for crime TV. Rated 4.5/5 Stars • Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 04/24/24 Full Review Mark M Original and dark drama with comic moments. Marty plays the same part as in Arrested Development really. Far too relaxed considering what he is mixed up in. An FBI agent as morally deficient as the evil drug growers and cartel he is trying to pull down.Brilliant acting by Julia Garner as Ruth. Oscar material. Rated 4.5/5 Stars • Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 12/17/23 Full Review Rain R Absolutely outstanding in every way. Compulsively binge worthy, brilliant acting, fabulous story. Rated 5/5 Stars • Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/31/23 Full Review Darin C Easily one of my favorite shows of all time. Gripping!
