New paper with Denise Jackson in Higher Education looking at university entry pathways, equity groups and how those influence retention and student experience outcomes. Students from alternative pathways generally have poorer retention outcomes in first-year and lower rates of course completion compared to those from school-leaving pathways, but those from enabling and pathway programs experience better retention outcomes. Students from equity backgrounds report relatively positive student experience but were at higher risk of degree dropout and also have poorer retention outcomes.
