Deltas New Pay Scale
Im posting Deltas new pay scale for reference. I think its important for all of our pilots to easily see how stark the difference is. $417.54 for a top of scale 777 captain. Top scale 757 captain makes $15 more than our current top scale wide body captain. Second year wide body FO is at 206.65. DOS+3 wide body captain is, $474.20. When we get there, United will likely have even higher rates. These numbers come from the negotiators notepad. Congrats to Delta. You all raised the bar higher than I could have imagined.

I agree a lot of our guys need to see how incredibly far behind we are about to end up. My quick math suggests we need a 24% DOS increase just to match where they are at this point. Admittedly thats a large number but this is also the second contract delta has signed since our 2015 agreement. FedEx has delayed negotiations and wants to play the long game with contract duration , well now its time to pay the piper.

We also have to remember that were on a 15 year scale to Deltas 12 year scale. My seat and seniority at Delta will pay $270. We cant accept less pay for our longevity because our pay scale drags out for three years longer.

This is a good point. Their top rate should be compared to our 12 year rate. If our top rate equals others top rate thats a three year concession on pay tables.

This. 12 year rates need to be compared to 12 year rates.

that pushes us to a 28% increase DOS. I fly with plenty of senior folks who still think 12-16% is acceptable as long as retirement is fixed whatever that means.

I suspect the surveys must indicate that the group supporting those mediocre increases is too small for overall membership ratification. The UPS extension is currently a 12% increase from present book and obviously the MEC is not even considering it.

Theyve just gotta make sure they can rip the A plan parachute and grab there bag of bonus money on the way out the door when the rest of the new book is full of concessions and a lack luster rates. So frustrating. Im getting so tired of hearing about fixing the pension they elected to not address during multiple bargaining cycles over the past 20+ years.
